This special event will feature talented and distinguished artists performing  kompa  and other traditional Haitian music, highlighting the rich musical heritage of Haiti and its power to bring communities together. KAÏ –  The Haitian kompa music group formed by lead singer  Richard Cavé  is widely recognized for its influential sound and international tours.  Cavé  is best known for his work with the kompa group  CARIMI.   KAÏ , which means house in Haitian-Creole (but is spelled kay) was inspired both by the place  Cavé  embarked on his rebirth and its Japanese translation, which means “restoration and strength,”

KATHIANNA  – Kathianna Celestin is a Haitian native mixed ethnicity. At a tender age of 5 she came to the USA to live in Brooklyn, NY. She then relocated to New London, Connecticut where she started her roots of singing. Her diversity will change the world with her vocal abilities and style for years to come.

Ricky Alan Draughn  might be new on the Smooth Jazz artist radar, but he’s been rated one of the hottest cutting-edge artists on the East Coast by virtue of his global performances.

The Haitian Community Center of Greater Norwich Inc.   vision is to ensure that all youth, families, individuals, and seniors have access to the services and support they need to thrive. Our mission is to minister to those in need by providing education, training, cultural activities and support services they need to succeed.

Our strategic directives include:

  • Targeted programming and activities to support Haitian-Americans living in Connecticut. This is a growing population that is underserved and lacks access and awareness of resources and support to fully participate and become active members of the community.
  • Provide education, training, and basic needs services, and create culturally welcoming activities for all community members to participate.
  • Support the educational and professional developmental needs of our children, youth and young adults.
  • Support seniors and family members by providing resources to support their health and well-being.

We are committed to providing the highest quality of services, being good stewards of our resources, leading with grace and compassion, and upholding a high level of professionalism, integrity, and excellence.

Creating Meaningful Impact

The Haitian Community Center of Greater Norwich (HCC) comprises of a dedicated group of volunteers working to support low-income families and individuals living in Connecticut with targeted programming for Haitian Americans. Our mission serves as our North Star—to minister to those in need by providing education, training, cultural activities, and support services they need to succeed.
