St. Baldrick's Shave Event--Conquering Childhood Cancers
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is proud to announce a transformative and thrilling Shave Event to be held at Foxwoods Resort Casino on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from noon to 3 p.m. With one powerful goal in mind – to conquer childhood cancers – the event promises to bring the community together in solidarity and support for children battling this relentless disease.
Participants, known as "shavees," will take to the stage to shave their heads in a courageous act of solidarity and a bold declaration of their commitment to fundraising for groundbreaking pediatric cancer research. This symbolic gesture not only raises awareness but also provides much-needed funds to drive innovative treatments and cures.
"This year's event at Foxwoods Resort Casino is set to be one of the most impactful yet," said Laura Rowe, Event Organizer for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. "The support and enthusiasm from our local community and Foxwoods Resort Casino are nothing short of inspiring. We're calling on everyone to join us, whether by becoming a shavee, volunteering, or donating."
The event will feature live entertainment, heartfelt stories from childhood cancer survivors and their families, and opportunities to learn more about the lifesaving research funded by the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Attendees can also participate in silent auctions and raffles, with all proceeds contributing directly to pediatric cancer research.
We are fortunate to welcome Canyon as our entertainment on May 4<sup>th</sup>. Currently hailing from Connecticut, Canyon. is a songwriter known for performing with an intensely raw passion and conviction. Her songs, often inspired by humanities foibles, are crafted to cut deep and bring light to the darker parts in all of us. Winner of the 2015 CT Music Awards "Song Of The Year” for her song Slow and nominated for "Best Singer/Songwriter" in the 2016 CT Music Awards, Canyon. is poised to make an entrance and impact in modern folk music.
