Stories of the Submarinocurraplane

Shane Holland, an Irish designer and sculptor, will give a talk on his family's links to John P. Holland, the father of the modern submarine. He will also discuss the tradition of Irish Currachs and other ties to Ireland's maritime history. Holland’s “Submarinocurraplane,” an award-winning sculpture made of recycled airplane parts, was inspired by these connections to his ancestor and his Irish heritage.
