2025 Breezeline Winter Cinema Series: The Piano Lesson

The Piano Lesson, based on the 1987 August Wilson play of the same name, follows the lives of the Charles family as they decide the fate of a long treasured heirloom, the family piano, which is decorated with designs carved by an enslaved ancestor. This is the third film-adaptation in Wilson’s Pittsburgh Cycle series produced by Denzel Washington following Fences (2016) and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (2020).
