Let's Build It! Building Block Workshop
Get ready for a day of creativity and community as the Stonington Community Center (COMO) partners with Historic Stonington and architect Stephen W. Schwartz for an exciting architectural building block workshop on Saturday, November 2, 2024. This family-friendly event, held in the COMO Gym, promises to be a unique opportunity for residents to come together and celebrate the rich history of the Stonington Borough.
In collaboration with Historic Stonington, the event will feature a large-scale printed map of the Borough, which will serve as the canvas for a one-of-a-kind Lego creation. Fifty local landmarks have been identified, and teams of 4 are invited to recreate these iconic buildings. Participants will select a landmark or location, receive a photograph for reference, and begin building their Lego masterpiece. Once completed, each creation will be placed on the map, ultimately forming a stunning 3D version of the Stonington Borough. This interactive project is a fantastic way for the community to engage with local history while fostering creativity and teamwork.
