Halloween Sushi Making Class with The Sushi Class
From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out (GTLO) have captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live, like you’ve never heard before. Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, GTLO re-create the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album… GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO brings what the audience wants…a high energy Zeppelin concert with an honest, heart- thumping intensity.
Dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” Get The Led Out offers a strong focus on the early years. They also touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever heard in concert. GTLO also include a special “acoustic set” with Zep favorites such as “Tangerine” and “Hey Hey What Can I Do.”
GTLO has amassed a strong national touring history, having performed at major club and PAC venues across the country. GTLO’s approach to their performance of this hallowed catalog is not unlike a classical performance. “ Led Zeppelin are sort of the classical composers of the rock era,” says lead vocalist Paul Sinclair. “I believe 100 years from now they will be looked at as the Bach or Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless.”
A
GTLO concert mimics the “light and shade” that are the embodiment of “The Mighty Zep.” Whether it’s the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues-soaked, groove- driven rock anthems, it’s their attention to detail and nuance that makes a Get The Led Out performance a truly awe-inspiring event!
Band Members:
Paul Sinclair – Lead Vocals, Harmonica
Paul Hammond – Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Mandolin, Theremin
Tommy Zamp – Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Vocals
Eddie Kurek – Keyboards, Guitar, Vocals, Percussion
Derek Smith – Drums, Percussion
Seth Chrisman – Bass, Vocals

We are excited to announce the 10th anniversary of the CT Veterans Day Race, and we invite you to join us in the celebration. Organized by an all-volunteer team of veterans and patriotic citizens, the event raises funds to support local Veteran Service Organizations and veterans in need, including homeless veterans. The organizers invite community members and businesses to participate as sponsors, volunteers, or participants to help support the Connecticut veteran community.
This year’s event is on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Patriots Park in Coventry, CT. Many military men and women need a “battle buddy,” someone who always has your back, to help navigate through their transition to civilian life. In addition to financial donations, we collect non-perishable food items on race day for veteran food pantries, as well as essential daily items—such as new hats, gloves, socks and toiletries—for homeless veterans. We also welcome in-kind donations from your business that will be included in the swag bags for the participants.

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue is an American funk, jazz, and soul band led by the talented trombonist and trumpeter Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews. Hailing from New Orleans, the group blends a variety of musical genres, including jazz, funk, R&B, and rock, creating a high-energy sound that captures the essence of their hometown’s rich musical heritage. Known for their electrifying live performances, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue have garnered a global following with their dynamic, horn-driven music and Trombone Shorty’s virtuosic skills on brass instruments.
Born Troy Andrews, Trombone Shorty got his start (and nickname) earlier than most: at four, he made his first appearance at Jazz Fest performing with Bo Diddley; at six, he was leading his own brass band; and by his teenage years, he was hired by Lenny Kravitz to join the band he assembled for his Electric Church World Tour. Shorty’s proven he’s more than just a horn player, though. Catch a gig, open the pages of the New York Times or Vanity Fair, flip on any late-night or morning TV show and you’ll see an undeniable star with utterly magnetic charisma, a natural born showman who can command an audience with the best of them.
Since 2010, he’s released five chart topping studio albums (his most recent being 2022’s Lifted); toured with everyone from Jeff Beck to the Red Hot Chili Peppers ; collaborated across genres with Pharrell , Bruno Mars , Mark Ronson , Foo Fighters , ZHU , Zac Brown , Normani , Ringo Starr , and countless more; played Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk, Newport Jazz, and nearly every other major festival; performed four times at the GRAMMY Awards, six times at the White House, on dozens of TV shows, and at the star-studded Sesame Street Gala, where he was honored with his own Muppet; launched the Trombone Shorty Foundation to support youth music education; and received the prestigious Caldecott Honor for his first children’s book.
Meanwhile in New Orleans, Shorty now leads his own Mardi Gras parade atop a giant float crafted in his likeness, hosts the annual Treme Threauxdown shows that have drawn guests including Usher, Nick Jonas, Dierks Bentley, Andra Day, and Leon Bridges to sit in with his band, and has taken over the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival’s hallowed final set, which has seen him closing out the internationally renowned gathering after performances by the likes of Neil Young, the Black Keys, and Kings of Leon.
Since the release of Lifted, Shorty and his band have made appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, TODAY and Good Morning America, and CBS Mornings. Shorty has also recently performed at the MusiCares pre-GRAMMY Awards gala, the Roots Picnic with Lil Wayne, on the instantly legendary NPR Tiny Desk featuring Juvenile , and at the White House’s 2024 Juneteenth concert. His recent 2024 summer tour featured special guest Big Boi and included a stop at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

They are known worldwide for their inclusive, message-driven songs fueled by hard-hitting grooves and electrifying guitar.
The band’s new album, Family, makes it clear that Southern Avenue creates musical storytelling magic. The band is unlike any other on the scene today, featuring lead vocalist/songwriter Tierinii Jackson, her husband, guitarist/songwriter Ori Naftaly, and her sisters, drummer/vocalist/songwriter Tikyra “T.K.” Jackson and percussionist/violinist/vocalist Ava Jackson.
“Through our music,” says Naftaly, “we expand our family to include our fans and whomever is moved by our songs.” The inspiring harmonies of the church-raised Jackson sisters are fueled by guitarist Naftaly, whose passion for blues and soul music led him to Memphis from his birthplace in Israel.
Together, Southern Avenue blends the city’s musical traditions with their own thoroughly modern worldview. Their authentic and unfiltered original songs are a bold step in defining the future of Memphis music. They are among the most musically riveting and visually exciting live bands. The Last Waltz Celebration
featuring The THE BAND Band & Special Guests
On Thanksgiving Day 1976, The Last Waltz was held at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. The Band’s farewell concert featured a who’s who of rock royalty from Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Eric Clapton to Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell and Ronnie Hawkins. This epic musical event was later immortalized in Martin Scorsese’s landmark film, “The Last Waltz,” widely considered one of the greatest concert films ever made.
Gary Solomon, co-founder of The THE BAND Band , was in the audience that night. “I knew that what I was seeing was not just another rock concert. It was a once in a lifetime event,” he says. It was also a moment that years later inspired Solomon, a professional musician, to form his tribute band with a group of like-minded friends. “I was so blown away by the experience of being at The Last Waltz , I wanted to tell the whole world about it” he says. “A half century later, it’s pretty clear that I still do.”
The Last Waltz Celebration revisits the music and the magic of that Thanksgiving evening, beginning with The THE BAND Band performing a set of The Band’s most beloved songs. After a brief intermission, the second set opens with a multi-media tribute to The Band and The Last Waltz (where supported), followed by a revolving cast of musicians – many of whom lead their own critically acclaimed tribute bands – performing the songs of those guest stars featured in the original concert. On occasion, nationally known musicians such as Tom Chapin (with the Chapin Sisters), Rex Fowler (of Aztec Two-Step), and fiddler Larry Packer(who played with The Band at The Last Waltz in 1976) have made cameo appearances to the delight of the audiences. The show culminates with the entire cast filling the stage for the grand finale.
The THE BAND Band is the world’s leading tribute to The Band , having performed more than 400 shows for audiences across the United States since their founding in 2007. In 2012, they created The Last Waltz Celebration, with over 50 performances to date.

Roomful of Blues

ROOMFUL OF BLUES
Even though Roomful of Blues’ lineup has changed over the years, the band has always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world. Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger. Singer DD Bastos brings her sweet and soulful vocals and adds another bright new dimension to the jazzy, jump-blues musical roots. Their winning combination of jump, swing, blues, R&B and soul remains their calling card, as does their ability to fill the dance floor. Along with bassist John Turner, trumpeter Chris Pratt, drummer Mike Coffey, keyboardist Jeff Ceasrine, baritone and tenor saxophonist Craig Thomas, and tenor and alto saxophonist Rich Lataille, Roomful keeps on rockin’ year after year!
Roomful of Blues, according to DownBeat magazine, “are in a class by themselves.” With their masterful combination of jumping, horn-heavy, hard-edged blues and R&B, it’s no wonder why the great Count Basie called them “the hottest blues band I’ve ever heard.” Since 1967, the group’s deeply rooted blend of swing, rock ‘n’ roll, jump, blues and soul has earned it five Grammy Award nominations and a slew of other accolades, including seven Blues Music Awards. With a non-stop performance schedule for over 55 years, Roomful of Blues has earned critical, popular and radio success and a legion of fans around the globe. including the prestigious DownBeat International Critics Poll for “Best Blues Band”.
D.D. Bastos – Vocals
DD is no stranger to the stage. She began singing in church at the age of 5 years old. Music has always been her passion. D.D. earned second chair in the All-Eastern Honors Ensemble representing Massachusetts which garnered her a scholarship.
After college D.D. began performing with local bands throughout NE which led to the inception of her band DD & The Road Kings. Her work put her closely associated with the fraternity that is; Roomful of Blues, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones, The Broadcasters and the dozens of splinter groups who have branched off -- shaping many other New England Blues bands. Certainly, when three of them show up on D.D. and the Road Kings' album Lover Bird, which was well received by critics and fans alike, there is a common thread that can be traced back to the '60s Blues revival. D.D. is also a Choral Director in the public school system with 20+ years as a private music teacher. Her love of singing is what fuels her soulful and powerful performances.
Chris Vachon - Guitar
Chris is a true multi-talent. His prowess as a guitar slinger is well documented, and his strengths as a producer and songwriter grow from album to album. He produced the band’s nine most recent albums—There Goes the Neighborhood (1998), Watch You When You Go (2001), Live at Wolf Trap (2002) the Grammy nominated That’s Right! (2003), and Standing Room Only (2004), “Raisin’ A Ruckus” (2008), Hook, Line & Sinker (2011), 45 Live (2013) and In A Roomful of Blues (2020) after co-producing all of Roomful’s other albums recorded in the ’90s. Chris’s songs— such as “Turn It On! Turn It Up!,” “Running Out of Time,” “She’ll Be So Fine,” “Blue, Blue World,” “Dynamite” and “Keep on Rockin'" have become firm favorites in AAA and bluesradio formats, bringing many new fans into the Roomful fold.
John Turner - Upright and Electric Bass
A veteran of the New England jazz scene, bassist John Turner has performed and recorded with just about everybody–specifically the Either/Orchestra,Charlie Kohlhase, Scott Hamilton, Roswell Rudd, Lee Konitz, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, members of Ornette Coleman’s band, and Magic Dick-Jay Geils and Blues Time to name a few. John’s rock solid bottom is the essential element of the swing groove which Roomful is renowned for.
Jeff Ceasrine – Piano\Organ
Originally from New York, Jeff is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed throughout the New England area on keyboards, rhythm guitar, percussion, and background vocals for over 25 years. He has worked in several long-standing acts in Rhode Island (blues, jazz, and swing) and has played many one-off gigs with various bands throughout the region. A frequent guest and on-call keyboard player with Roomful of Blues since 2008 (appearing on their recent "In a Roomful of Blues” CD), Jeff is comfortable with many different blues stylings. His influences include Pine Top Perkins, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Lonnie Smith, Otis Spann and Jimmy Smith..”
Mike Coffey - Drums
From Newport Rhode Island Mike Coffey spent 20 years performing with the US Navy band. Upon retirement he performed with local blues artist Chris Stoval Brown and other well-known blues artist in the Boston area. As part of a weekly Jazz series he has performed with Mike Renzi and Grey Sargent both members of Tony Bennett’s band and other renown jazz artist. He also performs with 50s doo wop group”The Diamonds” when they perform in New England. He
studied with renown drum instructors Alan Dawson and Gary Chaffee. Known for his versatility and ability to enhance any group he performs with he been a welcome new member of Roomful of Blues.
Rich Lataille - Tenor and Alto Sax
Rich joined Roomful in 1970 and was there at the beginning of what has become the most legendary horn section in contemporary blues. It was Rich’s interest in the swinging bands of the ’30s and ’40s that led Roomful to forge the distinctive sound that has become the band’s trademark. A man who can play both sides of the fence, lyrically tender or blisteringly hot, Rich has a big, warm tone that is always jam-packed with feeling. His melodic inventiveness reflects
the depth and breadth of his wide-ranging influences. Rich worked with various local and high-school bands before beginning his long-term relationship with Roomful.
Craig Thomas – Baritone and Tenor Sax
Craig was born in Washington DC and grew up in Maryland. At a young age Craig heard an early rock and roll instrumental “Wild Weekend” by the Rockin’ Rebels which inspired him to take up the saxophone. He moved to LA in his early 20s and played with the likes of Jim Messina of Loggins & Messina, Les McCann, Aretha Franklin, the Stylistics, Freda Payne, Jermaine Jackson the R&B Bombers among many, many others. Craig's rich musical background is a welcome asset to the Roomful of Blues horn section.
Christopher Pratt – Trumpet
Chris is a native of Rhode Island and has performed throughout the New England area with various local and national acts for over forty years. Chris recently retired as a music teacher of 37 years from Warwick Rhode Island and continues to actively teach music at Roger Williams University. Set on Christmas Eve in New London , this hilarious, heartwarming, and at-times-zany comedy can best be described as “Neil Simon meets Federico Fellini.” Audiences will be swept into the chaos and charm of an Italian-American family gathering in this interactive dinner theater experience , where love is the main ingredient and guests are part of the fun!
Synopsis:
The Pescatore family, proud Neapolitan immigrants running a small grocery store, are preparing the traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes. Mamma Lucia longs for Italy while fussing over the menu with Angelina — her eldest son Mario’s ex-girlfriend and the daughter she always wanted. The family is abuzz when Mario, a famous singer who hasn’t been home in 26 years, texts that he’s coming — but why now?
Meanwhile, middle son Pasquale dreams of becoming a stand-up comic, youngest son Dante wants to open his own restaurant, and only daughter Rosanna is performing magic tricks with Uncle Peppino. As everyone waits for Pappa Francesco to bring home the fish, cousins to arrive from Italy, and dinner to be served, chaos unfolds, and laughter ensues!
Will the feast come together? Will old wounds be healed and new dreams take flight? One thing’s for sure — nothing brings a family together like food, love, and a little holiday madness.
The talented cast: Christine Reynolds as Mamma, Don Bowen as Papa, James Kenney as Zio Peppino, Anjie Leonard as Angelina, Nicole Rose Wilcox as Rosanna, Nathan Rumney as Dante, Rick Fiocco as Mario, and Joel Kalinowski as Pasquale.

Taco Tuesday and Restaurant Industry Night
New London, CT., December 26, 2025 - The City of New London and the New London NAACP will have a ceremony tonight starting at 5:00 pm at the Parade Plaza to light the Kinara for the first night of Kwanzaa. We invite the community to come out and enjoy the celebration.
The colors of each candle have symbolic meanings. The black candle represents the African people, the red candles symbolize their struggles, and the green represents hope for the future. The number of candles represents the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Together, the candles are called the mishumaa saba. The candles are lit according to the numbering of the Principles:
Umoja (1)- (Unity) To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
Kujichagulia (2) - (Self-Determination)
Ujima (3) - (Collective Work and Responsibility)
Ujamaa (4)- (Cooperative Economics)
Nia (5) - (Purpose)
Kuumba (6) - (Creativity)
Imani (7) - (Faith)
The word kinara is a Swahili word that means candle holder. The seven candles represent the Seven Principles (or Nguzo Saba) of Kwanzaa. Red, green, and black are the symbolic colors of the holiday. During the week of Kwanzaa, a new candle is lit on the kinara each day.
